Program "Gift Warmth to Children"
Assistance to Children with Disabilities at the Podil District Rehabilitation Center in Kyiv

     Dear friends!

 

    Our charitable organization "BF 'Unity of the Community'" has received a request for help from the social rehabilitation center for severely ill children with disabilities located in Kyiv. This center cares for children who have central nervous system damage, as well as mental health issues and developmental delays. These children are mostly bedridden and require constant care and medical assistance as needed. The rehabilitation center provides free medical care and helps rehabilitate children to improve their health. 

    Currently, the state only covers the salaries of the director and social workers at the center, but does not provide for the children's needs or what is necessary for their care. 

   For many years, the center has not replaced towels, pillows, blankets, mattresses, or bed linen. There is a shortage of hygiene products and household chemicals. Additionally, there is a lack of lamps for lighting the premises, among many other necessities.

Reporting.

The following items were purchased and delivered to the children and the center:

  • Blankets (8 pieces)

  • Mattresses (8 pieces)

  • Bedding sets (16 pieces)

  • Bedspreads (8 additional pieces)

  • Kitchen towels (10 pieces)

  • Hand and face towels (16 pieces)

  • Room lamps (2 pieces)

  • Large oil heaters (3 additional pieces)

  • Desk lamps (4 pieces)

  • Energy-saving lamps (4 additional pieces)

  • Extension cords (2 additional pieces)

  • Laundry detergent 8 kg (2 pieces)

  • Floor cleaning agent "Mr. Proper" (12 pieces)

  • Toilet and household soap (24 pieces)

  • Dishwashing detergent (4 additional pieces)

  • Toilet cleaning agent (4 additional pieces)

  • Bathroom cleaning agent (6 additional pieces)

  • Cleaning wipes (5 additional pieces)

  • Sponges (50 additional pieces)

  • Cleaning powder (15 additional pieces)

  • Baseboards for the entire premises (additional)

  • Kettle (1 additional piece)

  • Disinfectant (10 liters)

  • All necessary stationery (A4 paper, pens, files, etc.)

  • Repaired equipment (computer)

  • Medical gowns and suits for all medical staff (additional)

  • Aprons (5 additional pieces)

     Dear Benefactors!

 

    We are reaching out to you again for assistance for sick children with disabilities at the rehabilitation center on Prospekt Svobody 2b. Last month, in response to their numerous requests, we, along with volunteers, procured and delivered many necessary items for the children's warmth and the center, for which we are very grateful to you!
    Currently, they urgently need to replace 2 large windows measuring 200x200 cm, one of which is in the children's bedroom. The children are bedridden due to conditions such as cerebral palsy and central nervous system disorders. 

    In total, the windows, including all repair work, will cost approximately 11,000 UAH (this includes the cost for dismantling, installation, removal of old window frames, and repair work after the installation of the windows).

    Our charitable organization "BF 'Unity of the Community'" has received a request for assistance for the second time from the social rehabilitation center of the Podil district in Kyiv for children with disabilities who have central nervous system damage, as well as issues related to mental health and developmental delays. These children rarely get out of bed and require constant care and medical assistance as needed.
   The rehabilitation center provides free medical care for these children and helps rehabilitate them to improve their health condition. Currently, the State only covers the salaries of the director and social workers at the center, but nothing related to the children and their needs. 
    Last time, the rehabilitation center reached out to us for help in replacing old and worn-out bedding, pillows that were in terrible condition and infested with bedbugs due to years of wear. The blankets, mattresses, and towels were also in a dreadful and unsuitable condition for use. Requests for everyday essentials (hygiene products and household chemicals) also went unaddressed due to a constant shortage at the center.
   Today, the rehabilitation center urgently needs carpets and bedside rugs, dining sets, thermoses for water, a pot, a kettle, and a bread bin. Massage oil is needed for hand and foot massages. For development, musical and educational toys are required.

   We ask all caring individuals to assist in acquiring the necessary items for the effective operation of the rehabilitation center and to help children with disabilities!
